Frequently Asked Questions

At HOU Concrete Contractors, we believe in providing great customer service in every aspect of our business – including our web presence. On this page, we’d like to take an opportunity to answer some questions you may have about our business and concrete in general.

Question One: Why Is HOU Concrete Contractors Right For Me?

While doing concrete construction projects yourself might be a tempting option, it can also come with major risks if you’re not already highly knowledgeable about this field. Because of that, working with a quality concrete and paving contractor such as HOU Concrete Contractors is the right choice for most people.

The people working at HOU Concrete Contractors aim to provide many different benefits to our customers.

  • Quality workmanship

Question Two: What Services Do You Offer?

HOU Concrete Contractors offers a wide variety of concrete services. These include:

  • Driveway installation
  • Concrete patio installation
  • Foundations
  • Sidewalks
  • Concrete repair/resurfacing
  • Stamped concrete

Question Three: What Is Your Service Area?

HOU Concrete Contractors is based in Houston, TX, which we’ve served since 2018. We don’t just serve the metropolitan area, though – we’re fully capable of working in other Harris County-area communities, such as The Woodlands, Sugar Land, and Cypress.

Question Four: How Long Will Construction Take?

Ultimately, the time it will take us to complete your project will depend on the nature of the project itself. The average patio or driveway project should take about 2-5 days, while larger projects can run from 4-10 days (if not longer).

Needless to say, these are just rough estimates – the actual length of your project could vary based on your unique situation. If you’re looking for something more accurate, your best bet is to get in touch by calling us or sending us an email.

Question Five: How Durable Will My New Concrete Be?

Concrete is a highly durable material, but it will inevitably crack. Cracks can be caused by all sorts of factors: the evaporation of water and shrinkage of concrete during the curing process, physical movement, changing temperatures, and too many others to list here.

Even when it begins showing minor cracks, your new concrete surface should continue to serve you well for years to come. If these cracks eventually become more problematic, we’ll be happy to work with you once again to fix them.

Question Six: How Can I Protect My New Concrete?

There are quite a few small things you can do to extend the life of your newly-installed concrete.

  • If you spill grease, gas, oil, and other substances on your concrete, clean it up before the surface can be stained.
  • Clean your concrete surface occasionally.
  • Be sure to reapply sealer once every two years or so.
  • Don’t place excessively heavy loads on your concrete driveway or sidewalk.
  • Don’t use salt or de-icing chemicals to deal with winter weather – instead, prevent slips and falls by applying sand to your concrete surface.
